Grant Making Areas

The Presser Foundation has five primary areas of interest:

1.  Advancement of Music: Provide general operating support to worthy music organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

2. Assistance to Music Teachers: Administer financial support to retired or disabled music teachers in need.

3. Capital Support: Provide grants for the construction and renovation of suitable buildings for musical instruction and performance by music organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

4.  Special Projects: Provide support to milestone celebrations, innovative projects, unique or first-time collaborations among music organizations, and general operating support for newer organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

5.  Scholar Award: Provide financial awards to promising undergraduate and graduate students at qualified higher education institutions.

Deadlines & Notifications

The Presser Foundation requires potential grantees to submit proposals by the following deadlines and will notify grantees accordingly.

*Please note significant changes to the Grant Guidelines for Special Projects including the consideration of proposals for planning grants up to $5,000 for efforts to center racial equity within music organizations. We strongly encourage careful review. Newly established music organizations (within 3 years) should apply under Special Projects for general operating support typically provided through Advancement of Music.

Online Grant Management

The Presser Foundation uses an online grant management system powered by Foundant.  The system allows for all prospective and current grantees to submit proposals and reports online.
