The Presser Foundation is pleased to welcome new and returning Officers this fiscal year.
Under the leadership of Ellen Rosen, they will play a vital role in leading the Board in its work.
Newly established this year is the role of 2nd Vice President, who serves as the Chair of the DEI Committee. This position continues the Foundation’s efforts to center diversity, equity, and inclusion into all of its processes and practices.
Ellen Rosen, President: Rosen assumes the Presidency after serving as the Foundation’s Treasurer and the leader of both the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) task force and the subsequent DEI Committee. She started her career as a lawyer and moved into business roles later in her career. She enjoyed a wide variety of musical genres.
William McLaughlin, 1st Vice President: McLaughlin is the longtime chair of the Advancement of Music Committee, the Foundation’s largest grantmaking area, and retired public official and continues as the 1st Vice President. He is also the former President of the Musical Fund Society.
Stanford Thompson, 2nd Vice President: Thompson is the current executive director of Equity Arc and the founder of Play On Philly. He has been on the Advancement of Music, Special Projects, Nominating & Governance, and DEI Committees. He serves on a number of other Philadelphia music and arts nonprofit boards.
Sharon Sorokin, Secretary: A writer, publisher, and lawyer, Sorokin chairs the Nominating & Governance Committee and has overseen a number of changes to the Foundation’s governance materials over the past several years. In her free time, she also plays the harp.
Chris Rinaldi, Treasurer: Rinaldi is the President and CEO of Jacobs Music, a family-run piano business deeply engaged with the music community. He has served on the Capital Support, DEI, and Assistance to Music Teachers Committees.
