Strategy Director

Kate Houstoun (she/her/hers) joined harp-weaver, which manages The Presser Foundation, in 2025. She is a community impact executive with over 20 years of experience supporting the missions of social service organizations, public charities, private and community foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners. Most recently, she served as Chief Impact Officer at United Way, one of the Greater Philadelphia region’s largest public charities. There, she developed a new impact strategy that responded to shifts in the organization’s business model—launching multi-sector partnerships, securing co-investment, and increasing community investment in poverty alleviation. She oversaw a $21 million grantmaking portfolio and a team of ten practitioners working across early learning, economic mobility, financial empowerment, and basic needs. Kate also led United Way’s crisis response partnerships, including the PHLCOVID-19 Fund and PHLConnectED, mobilizing rapid, cross-sector solutions during the pandemic. She brings deep experience in strategic planning, grantmaking design, evaluation and learning, board and donor engagement, and team development. Kate is co-founder of the Circle of Aunts & Uncles, a small business lending circle, and serves on the board of Elevate215.

Abby Rolland (she/her/hers) joined harp-weaver, which manages The Presser Foundation, in 2021. She provides communications, analysis, and project support. Abby has grantmaking and communications experience in private and community foundations, higher education, and human services. She’s passionate about catalyzing innovative change and systematizing processes to create stronger systems and better communities.

Abby has a master’s degree in philanthropic studies from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, a certificate in nonprofit management from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, and a certificate in Fund Raising Management from The Fund Raising School.
