Graduate Music Fellow

Daniel Jackson is the 2024-25 Graduate Music Fellow. He is an accomplished music educator and conductor,  pursuing Ph.D. in choral music education at Temple University. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in music education from Florida State University. With over 21 years of experience in music education, Daniel has served as the Director of Choral Activities at Olympia High School in Orlando, FL, and Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA, where his ensembles consistently earned superior ratings at district and state chorus festivals.

His choirs have had the honor of performing at prestigious events such as the National NAACP Conference, Florida ACDA and FMEA Conferences, Virginia’s VMEA Conference, and the Music For All National Conference.

In addition to his work in schools, Daniel has significant experience with non-profit and community music organizations. As the Associate Artistic Director of the Orlando Choral Society, he assisted in the organization artistic development under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Redding. In Northern Virginia, he conducted choirs representing the National Children’s Chorus and the Frederick Children’s Chorus. Furthermore, he served as a strategic advisor for the Loudoun Children’s Chorus and an artistic advisor for the South Loudoun Youth Chorale.

Since relocating to the Philadelphia area, Daniel has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Arts and has taught beginning conducting and Vocal Jazz education at Temple University. He is also a member of the profession vocal ensemble Elevation, directed by Arreon Harley-Emerson. As a clinician, speaker, and adjudicator, Daniel has provided musical leadership and workshops on culturally responsive choral practices across the East Coast.

Daniel is a grateful husband to his wonderful wife, Jennifer, and proud father to two brilliant young girls.
